Interesting Interpretation
As I'm watching several girls grade-school travel basketball games on Sunday, the trail official calls an interesting backcourt violation. A game or so later, while watching my daughters' game, I ask him during a TO: "on that BC violation you called two games ago....what did you see?".
His repsonse: "By rule, you need to have 3 points in the frontcourt before you can have a BC violation. While the girl was dribbling upcourt, she had 1 foot in the front court, the other foot on the mid-court line, and she dribbled the ball on the mid-court line...that's 3 points....then she dribbled the ball in the backcourt. So that's a backcourt violation."....
