On fast break situations, the Lead must be ready to help on "3" point shots
When the ball is above the free throw line extended, the Lead should have responsibility for "3" second violations.
On a press, the Lead official should have a "free safety mentality"
In the Lead position, get into a "back" stance in order to be patient
Sprint from Trail to Lead, don't have a "home run" trot
Pick up game and shot clocks from Trail to Lead
The Lead has "strong side rebounding"
When working the Lead, pick up secondary defenders on drives to the basket
Lead don't rule across the lane when a primary match-up is involved with the Center
When rotating as a Lead, don't rotate blindly
In the Lead position, if you cannot see between the offense and defensive player you are out of position
