Under the current rule, how will the offense get any advantage, or for that matter even be able hit the ball??? The current rule states that when the runner leaves early, it is a no pitch (nothing else can happen, dead ball...etc.) and the runner is out. That seems more than enough punishment for the infraction, at least to me.
