And my response is the same that we give coaches/fans who complain about a rule not being properly enforced in their local 6th grade game.
At that level I'm not worried that every rule gets applied to the letter of the law. The official in the
OP did what he thought was best for the children and the game. It was a 5th grade game, it's no big deal.
