When the batter prevents a pitch from entering the strike zone it is a dead ball and a strike. See rule 7-2-1-h.

She would only be out if she already had two strikes when she did this!

(Of course, the unspoken understanding of the rule is that it is the batter's person/body that prevented the pitch from entering the zone- not contacting the pitch with the bat.)
