No, you're not reading this correctly. As I trail the play up the court (trail, get it?) I stay 10-15 feet behind the ball.
In the frontcourt, I go where I need to go to see what I need to see. I'm the last person who worries about getting beat down the floor as the new lead. If it happens, it happens.
