As a trail helping the lead determine if it is a made basket, do not say "The basket is good." Just tell him as discreetly as possible that "the basket was made." A little nuance which is a BIG annoyance (pet peeve) to many.
I simply say the ball went in. Even saying "the basket was made" could be interpreted as it should count. If the ball was dead there was no made basket, but the ball still went into the basket.

Perhaps, nitpicking, but it's the method I like.
