I believe kcg_nc2ablu came up with a way to remove the N completely without damaging the shoe. If I recall correctly, it involves using a lot of rubbing alcohol on the N and working on it slowly but continuously. After a while, the N comes off, and you can polish up the leather underneath to make it look normal.
Haven't seen the 450s, but if they're like the 350s, you'll still have to blacken the white around the soles.
