 Looks to me like they properly called Helms out for not batting when Barden came up and walked in the 9 hole (combining the PBP with the article).

Just because Barden went to short and Helms went to third does NOT mean they replaced that particular position's former player in the lineup. Barden could take the F5 slot and Helms the F6 slot.
