The officials do have a responsibility to be consistent with each other and consistent as to the type calls that are made from start to finish. It is not the official's responsibility to call the game the way that the players may be used to seeing.

I guess when I do that rare 7th or 8th grade game next time I should call it exactly the same way as my Division 5 Varsity Boys game and have 1000 or 1 foul respectively...

Of course an official has to call a consistant game and it is up to the players and coaches, fans, waterboys, etc to adjust to that "consistancy" if you will. I was simply stating (if you read my post) that different levels of ball dictate different judjement responsibilities on what is a foul/violation etc...
