The purpose and intent of the rule is very important here. The rule makes it clear that this is an extraordinary remedy, and should only be used when there is a clear disruption. The ONLY time I would ever make such a call is when there is a concerted effort by multiple individuals. The best example is the Florida game in the late '80s when the fans threw down tennis balls late in the game because one of the Florida players had reportedly spit on a kid at a tennis court. Here's the thing; it's game management's job to 1) keep this from happening or 2) stop it as soon as they see it.

To see the AD (game manager) smirking about it and have him need to get told to deal with it? Unacceptable. While I wouldn't necessarily issue the T, I'd be hard pressed to argue with an official who made that call.

Add that to the fact that MA has decided the officials need to stick around for the post game "sportsmanship ceremony" (hand shake line), and I'd be more inclined to pour some T on this situation. Out of principal.
