People always tell me about calls in games and after they describe it, they always say "The announcer said it was a [good/bad] call." So, the general public values their opinion over the official's, so they'd better get a little more educated.

Exactly. And that's why I wish they wouldn't comment on a call being good or bad since they don't know the rule. The problem is they don't know that they don't know the rules. If we all think back to before we started officiating, we thought we knew the rules too but we really didn't. Many of us were fed the wrong information by announcers.
