I started to call this thread, "Nailin' That Puppy!" but that sounds so cruel.

Okay, two 8th grade games, one girls' and then one boys'-- each game two hours!!. Floor solid cement with the occasional pock mark, OOB lines under the spectators chairs, except on the end lines where they were right at the wall. Partner well-intended and pleasant, but inexperienced and inconsistent, and terrible mechanics; three loud, obnoxious coaches, one really loud, obnoxious parent, a stage full of rowdy MS boys, and brand new table people.

Best games of my career!!! I handled the coaches, kept my partner on the straight and narrow, without embarrassing or upsetting him, didn't twist anything on that Gawd-awful floor, kept track of the table, and got everything right. Could hardly sleep last night. Felt great!

Of course, it helped that I got my first varsity game assignment -- Jan 4.

Remember Roberto Begnini receiving his Oscar by walking down on the chairs? That's how I'm feeling these days, and I like it!!
