That's based solely on observing games over the years, not on the rule book. So that could be wrong.

Of note: That is the first time I have ever seen a team that takes a two point lead on the final play of the game forced to attempt the try. I'm glad to finally see it, though.
NFL Rule 4, Section 8, Article 2, f:

If a touchdown is made on the last play of a period, the Try attempt shall be made (except during a sudden-death).
