obviously the rules arent written with knowledge of every product out on the market, if the product violates the spirit of the rule, then disallow it.
The thing that gets me, as a player, is donuts arent allowed. According to the ASA umps in my league, there is a risk of a donut slipping off the BARREL when being swung, thus the injury risk is too high to be allowed. I dont know if anyones ever swung a bat with a donut on it, but you could take 1 million of the most violent cuts ever and that donut wont move an inch.

No, this is different from those thumb protectors. The picture I showed was something that gets attached to the pinky or the ring finger of your down hand, not the thumb of your top hand.
