Crush of fans breaks scorekeeper's computer, leads to scoring error in Cornell-Penn - ESPN

That's nice, except for the fact that scorers aren't authorized to make such decisions. The value of a shot is clearly the decision of the officials on the court and if the officials gave a signal regarding the counting of the final try, then that decision has to be followed as well. Of course, I can see the scorer making a decision on the final basket if the officials just ran off to get out of the way of the onrushing students.

Fortunately, the betting line was not a factor as it was 14, not 24.
