A player is fouled on a layup in the first 15 seconds of the game. "How many shots, ref?" Or, on the 7th foul, we announce 1&1, first shot is made, and half the players start to the other end of the court. etc.

Agreed. I usually follow this with, "One more, fellas." That's when you see a lot of light bulbs turning on.
