The catcher's chest protector should work fine for Little League games if you are looking for something inexpensive. That is my advice, take it or leave it. Besides Steve, you have the most cushioned chest out of anybody here, so you shouldn't need any protector at all.

It's terrible advice.
A catcher's protector is designed to offer protection when the catcher squats down in a catcher's position. Watch to see how that protector leaves open body parts (such as the collarbone) when the catcher stands. It's necessary - the catcher must be able to throw and play as unimpeded as possible.
Umpire protectors are completely different.
