The lights were turned on to start the bottom of the fourth, but West ordered them shut off after back-to-back doubles by the Braves because the Cubs batted without the lights in the top of the inning under overcast skies.

The ejection occurred before Braves reliever Vladimir Nunez completed his warmup pitches in the top of the fifth. The 68-year-old Cox began yelling at West, who would not let Nunez to deliver his first pitch until the lights took their full effect.
