Ok,
I'm going to continue with my pain in the a** status.
I think there is some credibility to a coach complaining that a player is out-of-control. If I'm reffing a play and the player is a whirling dervish, and out of control, I will more than likely not require the defense to be as "legal" as I would otherwise. I don't know exactly how the NF and NCAA books read, but the NBA/WNBA manual reads,
"a player must be in control of his/her body at all times."
However, I've heard that chant before as well.
Just saying, don't always discount that statement.
