Be careful here with this. I didn't see the play so I can't
comment on whether the foul was deserved or not and I
know that at this level (NBA) fouling out a star might cause
trouble for the ref, especially in a big game. But in
general a foul is a foul, period. Nothing wrong with
"protecting" the starters, if you need to choose between a
starter & a bench guy then you might give the foul to the
bench guy. Other than that call your game.
