Not saying that I have the perfect solution to this, but I'm not sure that #26 is a great choice in this case. First, I'm not sure that it is proper as we must remember that this is the defense reaching over the boundary plane, not the offense leaving the spot and secondly this signal is not very visible.
Personally, I employ a non-standard mechanic in this case for clarity. (This is something that I do very rarely.) I give the "Tomahawk Chop."
It is very visible and has worked well for me.
