For single umpire and calls at 2B, sprinting out into the infield is not much of an advantage; for one thing, you won't get very far before you'd better be coming set to see the play; for another the angle is much more important that the distance; third, for a swipe tag, you are always going to be completely or partially screened. I prefer going down the 1st base line rather than the 3rd or into the infield.
