Appeal Question
Had a situation last night that I've never had before and not sure if I handled it correctly.
Batter hits a triple but misses first base. After the play is complete the offensive manager calls for time and walks out to me and asks me if the BR had missed first. At first I said nothing and finally after about 5 seconds I said, "Coach that's not the proper procedure to appeal a baserunning situation." turned around and assumed my place on the field.
They never did appeal and after the inning I called him over and explained to him the proper procedure.
Was I correct or should I have done something differently??
