After a while, you will get the feel for tucking it under your left arm, just like a mask. It just feels funny at first.

I just wish they made the opening in the cage a little wider. So many people who have worn HSM's say they have a much better viewing area for their eyes than a regular mask. In my experience, that is not the case.
If you mean the straps are too short to get a good fit, you may have purchased the wrong size. They come in Small (5 1/8" or smaller hat size), and Large ( larger than 5 1/8" hat size). Your comment about the cage being wide enough also leads me to believe your helmet is too small.

I bought one of the first All-Star's, before they came out with the Small size. I wear a 5 1/8" hat, and am much happier with the Small size I purchased last year. I really didn't notice a reduction in view when I switched to it though.

I believe the Wilson Helmet has an even bigger opening than the All-Star, maybe you can try one of those instead. All models of something don't always work for everyone.

Good Luck,
