I have to agree with JR. (Ok, I don't
have to, but he's right in this case.
)
I know of very few officials that get picked up the first camp they attend. Usually you have to attend a few so that they start to remember you the 2nd and 3rd time around, see how committed you are to that level, and how much you've improved from the 1st time they saw you. It's hard to stand out from the other 50 or so campers if they don't know you already.
Also, you will learn things, from positioning and techniques during games, to the "political" aspects of the camp. Who should you talk to, and who should you stay away from? Who are the sucessful officials at that level, and why? Who do you really want to see you work?
So, what are you doing playing around on the computer; fill out the damn application!
