Maybe because it's so close to dinner, but I would equate game management to seasoning on a steak. Sometimes you need a little, sometimes you don't need any. Either way, you still need to blow the whistle, or use a knife and fork. (On the steak, Dan, not the players and coaches...)

I think the fork could be likened to an ejection, as in, "Stick a fork in him, cause he's done!!"
