If anything, the reason many SP rules aren't arbitrarily changed is because so many believe it is necessary to keep the traditional game intact. The "inning ending" homerun for D this year was about as drastic a change in the game you will see from the ASA crowd. And we all know, if the teams played it straight up and were not trophy-hunters, this would not have been necessary.

Personally, I like the game the way it is. I believe the bases should be backed off a little bit, and the bats dummied down, but other than that, it's fine by me.

JMHO,

What I'm looking for is something to help (force?) the local and state associations to be more proactive in the development of thier programs... other organizations are KILLING us on a local and national level...if they fail to realize it, and change the way they market the game,"the national governing body of softball" will be even MORE hollow that it is now....
