I understand what you are saying, but I would ask you to try something. Forget about what everyone in the gym does or doesn't know and match your calls to the appropriate violation/foul. The crowd might not like you, but you might feel better about the job you did. This isn't black and white, but IMO the stop sign isn't a requirement between unsportsmanlike behavior and a technical foul. Although you might not always use it, this thread is an example of plenty of officials who do. Don't think I'm a gunslinger, although some people may say I am
