Did anyone see Good Morning America this morning? They did a piece on nutty parents attacking officials, other parents, even players on the field. They called it an epidemic, as I recall. Conclusion: Game management has to start addressing parent behavior, including training the parents how to behave at contests.
One of the videos showed a football official getting hit by a parent who was an assistant coach on one of the youth teams. The kid had been involved in some extracurricular activity following a tackle and the official had picked him up out of the scrum. Makes you think that breaking up a fight is not the smartest course of action (unless you're a boxing referee).
