I agree with oz on reading other people's posts. We have some very knowledgable officials here, and I have learned a lot! Matthews, use it to your advantage.
I was the scorer tonight for the first time since I started officiating, i scored at a jv game. I learned that scoring is a hell of alot easier than reffin! Just my opinion,
I am an official and since then, I never really did the books, I tried it tonight, and I really like it. It is fun, I learned a lot about expecations of scorers, and learned a lot about officials and their relationship with scorers from the scorer's standpoint.
I wish you the best of luck, I learned a few things about how I should officiate tonight, or more on how I should not; it was a great expierence. Just don't get cocky, and find a mentor, go over rule changes, and work some scrimmages at your middle or high school. have FUN, that is the key to officiating, along with skill, judgement, mental preperation, ect...
