I'm wondering why anyone was confused. Was it because the play came from the outfield? What if the play had been a ground ball to F4, who foolishly threw to 1B for the second out while the winning run scored, and then F3 threw to some other base to "put out" on one of the other runners, after the run had crossed the plate? Would anyone think such a belated third out nullified the run? I'm puzzled as to why this play was "talked about all weekend."
