i don't discount those facts. what would you have suggested they ask for upon entering into a negotiation? exactly what their bottom line was? what room would that leave for negotations? because they asked for 300 doesn't mean that's what they would have gone to work for. they had to leave room to go down, even though 300 is already well below what they probably would have liked to get.
