8-7 THE RUNNER IS OUT. 8-7-L NOTE: Section 7 J-L: When the runners are called out for interference, the batter-runner is awarded first base and credited with a fielders choice. EXCEPTION: If the interference prevents the fielder from catching a routine fly ball (fair or foul) with ordinary effort, the batter is also out.
