Varisty with partner no show (so I'm alone) -
R1 @ 3B .. hit - play at home - I call out .. runner takes off to 2B so catcher immediately throws to 2b.. I didnt see the catcher had dropped the ball.. turned to quick to watch play at 2b - and catcher was so quick at covering and getting rid of the ball (no chance to ask to show the ball like I normally would).

My foster kid who is a first year umpire was watching and confirmed what everyone saw but me - the catcher had dropped ball and got rid of it quick.. and lied too!! saying "no i didnt" in response to crowd.

Good catcher - bad call.

Luckily didnt affect outcome of game.
