As we were walking off the field, and seperated from the crowd, I quietly asked him what he had at second, thinking perhaps that I might have missed something. and the conversation was limited to the question, and there wasn't a great deal of conversation, certainly not enough to arouse any suspicion, that's for sure.
That umpire is one who when questioned recites the book verbatim, to the point where it becomes tedious. I am an umpire who likes to let the game flow, and doesn't look for anything, because I know that as soon as I do, I'll find more than I anticipated.
With a situation like that one, all kind of things enter your mind.
