Simultaneous, but not at the same time

Called a travel tonight for a poorly executed jump stop. At half time the offender asked me about the call. It went something like this:

Me: If you're going to jump stop, your feet need to land simultaneously
Him: Yeah, of course. But not at the same time.
Me: Huh?
Him: I get it. The feet have to land simultaneously. But they don't have to land at the same time.

Hard to argue with logic like that.
