We ended up going with the offensive foul. It happened kind of fast so neither one us really knew for sure if the ball had left the shooter's hand or not. We told the coach that my partner heard my whistle and the ball had not left yet, so we went with it and acted like we had the call all along! Nobody questioned it much, so it worked out.
