I don't think the non-awarded FT need be shot.

Before the foul the score was A 52, B 52.

After the missed FT, the score was A 52, B52 (duh!)

After the half-court heave, the score was A 52, B 55.

THe most A can score is one point on the FT -- no need to shoot it.
