Thumbs up HSSG

Whatever brand you end up with, make sure they are NEW and lightweight shin guards. I have a pair very similar to the Gerry Davis model. The two wide elastic velcro straps do not rust or rub into your legs like the four straps on traditional baseball leg guards. This makes it much more comfortable to wear at the plate and to run around the field.

I reccomend the Itech HOCKEY shin guards. They are mostly plastic and light as a feather too. I removed all the lining/padding from the inside because it generates HEAT. At my age, I wear knee pads for support and to absorb any more shock on my knees. I also left some padding near the ankles to absorb the shock there. So far, I haven't felt a thing in between either.

NOTE: I will never wear a HOCKEY MASK to a baseball game. Actually, I'll cross my fingers that the traditional mask will still be available for BASEBALL. An umpires job is tough enough without the taunts over their choice of headgear.
