Enforce the rule
I agree with the previous reply. Just because you don't think it's a fair to the receiving team doesn't mean that its any less unfair to the kicking team to take away both points and possession (subsequent to the ensuing free kick). You are severely penalizing the kicking team in enforcing your view.
The receiver has an option in the scenario you describe - attempt to secure the ball, or allow it enter the EZ untouched. If he makes a bonehead decision to try and field a kick that has bounced inside his 5, he deserves the result of the play.
