With regards to being inbounds or being outa bounds, the rules do not differentiate between one foot or more feet.

A player is where the player is until that player is somewhere else.
And, the player is somewhere else when that player is touching somewhere else.

Yes, 4.35.2c says it simply.

Don't over-think this thing, just keep it simple.
There is nothing tricky here.
