Another reason that we depart the court so quickly is because of a basic philosophy in officiating.
We are there to manage the game and its participants. When the game is finished, we need to disappear. We have no reason to be there.
As far as getting things taken care of before the game ends, that is a result of good communication between the table and the officiating crew. This is a positive, not a negative.
