I believe you are. That's the NCAAW rule, if I'm not mistaken. Although in NCAAW, closely guarded is 3-feet, isn't it?
Yes, that's right. NCAAW has a 5-sec. held ball closely-guarded count, anywhere on the court. (There is no 10 second count, by the way, in case you're trying to picture a different count with each hand in the backcourt...) They also changed the closely-guarded distance from 6 feet to 3 feet for the '03-'04 season.
