Regarding the 3 second call requests. Keep in mind that coaches and fans want any call made that will give their team another possession. I usually tell the kid to clear the lane and try to keep from making that call. If I've told the kid a couple of times and he's not moving or told him already over a couple of possessions, then it's time to call it. I don't want to chase kids out of the lane all game.
BTW, If coach tells you he's been in there for 5-6 seconds already, he's probably right because coaches rarely exaggurate.
