Question

Two umpires from the association worked this game yesterday.

Visitor's team coach took his team off the field in the third inning of a game on Friday after a collision at the plate.
Home team trailed 2-1 in the third and had runners at second and third. Home team player hits two run single, the second runner collided with the visitor's catcher.
The ruling on the field was that it was incidental contact and the visitor's coach felt that home team runner didn't slide, or try and avoid contact. Visitor's team coach decided to take his girls off the field.
The home team coach said, "Our runner tried to avoid the catcher, no doubt about it. It wasn't malicious. The catcher missed the throw and didn't have the ball. Our runner tried to go around her and they met and collided. It was incidental contact. It happens in a game. People are going to run into people."
Home team coach anticipates filing the necessary documentation with the state athletic association to have the game forfeited to his team.
Neither home team coach or AD were available for comment.

Doesn't look good for the association.

How would you have handled it? Comments. No HTBT-I wasn't working the game
