Sounds like someone was over umping and looking for bs to pick on and that causes unnecessary friction with coaches.

Some umps spend too much time looking for ways to justify their existence and instead should remember we are there to professionally officiate a game played by players who are coached by coaches.

Dont let umps like the one you describe or the asses calling you a rat bother you. Thats a little thing the prima dona tim does to make himself feel superior. Others fall in line out for whatever reason.

They have forgotten the reason they are on the field and think they are the game.
