This play occurred in a varsity girls basketball game.

A1 is dribbling in the front court near the top of the key. B1 knocks the ball towards backcourt and a scramble ensues. B1 eventually falls on top of the ball with her chest and arms in her front court and waist and legs in the backcourt. She gathers the ball and passes backwards to B2 who is totally in the backcourt and starts a fastbreak. Coach A is screaming for a backcort violation. This was a bang bang play and the quickest response that I could think off was the rule of 3. (Both feet and the ball to establish frontcourt) My parnter thought I had a good call. One of the officials working the next game in the tournament thought it was backcourt. I talked over with most of the guys I work with and they were about 50/50 each way. Help me out here.

Thanks
