Did A have the ball on the rebound?
Did the horn sound before or after the rebound?
I'm thinking that if you had time to look at the coach and then to the clock, the timeout should have been granted.
Be aware of game situations and you will anticipate the timeout in that situation. Get in the habit of looking at the clock on the whistle in game ending situations.
