NFHS rule 4-4-5--"A ball which which touches the front faces or
edges of the backboard is treated the same as touching the floor
inbounds....."
It says "edges"-which is
all edges, including top, sides and bottom.
If you ever use NCAA rules, it's the same. The rules are on-line @
